Seachtain na Gaeilge 2017 took place in mid March. Once again, the children of St.Kilian's Junior School enjoyed an action packed and fun filled Seachtain na Gaeilge with teachers providing informal irish dancing sessions for all the classes from Junior Infants to Second Class. We were also delighted to welcome a group of very accomplished and talented musicians who performed two lively concerts of traditional music in the school hall. There was plenty of clapping and cheering. This year, in line with the new Primary Language Curriculum, the children did a PE and an art lesson through Irish. Of course, one of the highlights of the week was the Siopa Milseán, where the children could use their cúpla focail to buy sweets, chocolate and all things nice. They had great fun "ag ithe" afterwards. Well done to all the children and adults who dressed up in patriotic green on the last day of Seachtain na Gaeilge. They looked fantastic.
