St. Kilian's Junior School has successfully achieved Six Green Flags
• Litter and Waste (2009)
• Energy (2011)
• Water (2013)
• Transport (2015)
* Biodiversity (2017)
* Global Citizenship (2019)

We have been awarded our sixth Green Flag on the Global Citizenship – Litter and Waste Theme. We have learned how our actions locally influence people and environments around the world. We have reduced our waste going to landfill by 20% this year.

Ruth Gaj-McKeever from An Taisce visited our school on Wednesday 13th March for our Green Flag Renewal visit. She met with the Green Committee. She was very impressed with our efforts to achieve our sixth Green Flag. Ms. Lehane completed the application form for our sixth Green flag in March and submitted it to An Taisce. We will find out if we were successful in May.

We had lots of fun during Eco Week 2019 (1st - 5th April). Annette McNelis visited our school on Wednesday 3rd April to complete an Anti-Littering Music Workshop with 2nd Class. On Thursday 4th April Ms. Monds and 1st Class visited the Library in Tallaght to complete the Naturally Wild Pollinator Project with Dale Treadwell.

We proudly raised our sixth green flag on Thursday 13th June with the help of Yvonne, Helen and our wonderful lotto ladies. It was a lovely occasion. The children from second class performed a number of songs and the whole school joined in. Sincere thanks to Ms. Lehane and the Green Committee for all their hard work in securing the flag.
